I have to confess that, until now, the Ostwestfalen-Lippe region was a part of our state I might have half heard about in a WDR programme called „So schön ist NRW“ or something like that, but about which I otherwise knew next to nothing. My knowledge of the town of Rheda-Wiedenbrück was correspondingly modest. As a football fan, all I knew was that sausage mogul and Schalke saviour Clemens Tönnies comes from here and still lives here.
